I have a macbook pro with Mojave. Don't use Picasa, but LR & PS CC and have no problems.

Just updated to Catalina. I use Luminar and the transition to the new operating system went off perfecting as regards Luminar.
I do have an issue with my printer so I need to find a new print driver

The Apple tech I spoke with the other day told me that Catalina is 64 bit, and 32 bit programs won’t work right, or may not work at all, now. He suggested waiting to install Catalina until current 32 bit program software writers come up with updates for their programs to 64 bit. He said that it’s fine, and won’t hurt anything to install the new OS, but to be aware that some software won’t work with it right now.

I don’t think it will take these companies very long to update their software programs to 64 bit. And I doubt Apple is the only one moving to 64 bit operation. It’ll be industry-wide.

I just finished upgrading from Sierra to Mojave (skipping High Sierra). Nice update. Thus far, other than needing to update my MS office programs, no issue. The photos update is good (i still use for quick jpeg edits), and no issue from my ON1 RAW.

Note that it took several iterations of “update” to get to Mojave. Had to find the image for 10.14.0, and then work my way up to the most recent, 10.14.6. Took several hours over a few days. Start the update, and let it chug away through the night, and work your way through

I wont be updating to Catalina for some time based on reports, and the advice of my local “Mac Pro” technical support.

Good luck. I do like the update over Sierra

No problems with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite especially LR and PS with Mac OS Catalina 10.15 on a MacBook Pro.

Google appears to have abandoned Picasa, so I fear there will be no updates to 64 bit for that software. https://picasa.google.com

Picasa is the best photo editing program I have ever used. I will not give it up

It depends upon what you got on it and what you do (use).

Apature for one thing is gone. Off the screen, the programs.

Apple has been warning about this for over a year, and Microsoft is not that far behind on this issue either. Catalina will not support ANY 32 bit software. It's easy to check on a Mac. Qlick on the "Apple" in the upper left corner, and then click on "system information". Scroll down the list in the box to "Legacy Software" and then scroll down the list. If there is anything listed, it will NOT run under Catalina. If you don't use it or need it, no issue. Anything you will need must be updated. Simple. Best of luck.

I updated my Mac Pro late 2012 to Mojave and had problems with ON1 Raw, Luminar 3, Aurora, and Topaz AI programs. Whenever I tried to save my edits, the computer crashed. Repeated e-mails to each of these manufactures never solved the problems. Even deleting my programs and reinstalling new ons didn't fix the problems. I'm back to High Sierra and haven't experienced any problems except Skylum and topaz who will not grant me a free download though I have the different activation keys and told them when I purchased the different programs. I refuse to pay for them again. A rather sad story.
