Nikon D7200 bracketing

I have checked the manual and searched archives but have not found a direct answer to my problem. Just trying to set up a simple bracket mode with a plus/minus one f stop but when pressing the bracketing button to set it up I do not get any display as illustrated in the manual. I must have some other setting that is in conflict so bracketing is not allowed but cannot figure what it is. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong.

What shooting mode are you using? This works well and according to the manual when I use Aperture priority. This is useful for HDR etc. I think this works in shutter priority mode. I don't recall if it works in Auto or manual mode.

I don't think it works unless you shoot jpegs. Are you shooting RAW? I could be wrong, though.

On the D7200 bracketing works in every mode *** Except AUTO ***.
You can shoot Raw, JPG, or both.

Thanks - I suspected there was some conflict with bracketing but was not sure what it was.

Bracketing does NOT work in fully Auto mode. It works in Program, Aperture, Shutter, and Manual modes.
