A poor couple has twin baby boys, Amahl and Juan, but they cannot afford to keep them. They put them up for adoption, and they go to people in different countries. A few years later, the mother is miserable because she misses the boys and would like to know what they look like now.
They scrimp and saved to get the money to visit them. Unfortunately, they save only enough money for one parent to visit one boy, so the father goes to visit Juan, who is living closer.
Father and son have a wonderful visit, and he takes lots of pictures. When he comes home, he shows his wife the pictures, and she's thrilled. "Oh, if only you could have visited Amahl, too, and taken pictures of him. The husband replied, "If you've seen Juan, you've seen Amahl."

There two Muslim mothers sitting next to each other on an airplane. One was looking at photos of her son. When asked she told the other woman that her son was a martyr for Allah—he died while setting off a bomb. “Praise Allah.”
The second woman said that her son was a suicide bomber and was a martyr as well. “Praise Allah.”
Both mothers missed their sons who died before entering the prime of their lives. “So true,” one said, “they blow up so quickly.”
