Holiday Cookie Recipes from my family archives.

Kringlor
1.5 cup sugar, 2 cup buttermilk, 3 eggs, 2 cup sour cream, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 - 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 6 - 7 cup flour.

Mix all but flour one at a time until smooth. Add flour 1/2 cup at a time until you get a sticky ball. Chill over night. Add more flour until you get bread dough consistency. Roll into pencil strips - about 2 Tbs. Draw ends to middle and put in a twist. Put on cookie sheet and sprinkle with flour dust. Bake 10 min at 350 - 375 F. Want light brown on bottom but not on top. Do Not Grease the sheet. Keep a pan of flour handy.
Recipe contains: 5764 cal, 1013 g carbohydrate, 29 g fiber, 140 g protein, 125 g fat.

Krumkake
3 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup whipped cream, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, about 1.5 cup flour.

Beat eggs, add all but flour and mix well. Add enough flour so it handles well. Put 1 tsp on iron and cook to light brown. Take off and roll on wood cone quickly. Iron needs a little grease just once.
Recipe contains: 2904 cal, 349 g carbohydrate, 6.4 g fiber, 41 g protein, 152 g fat.

Futtigmand
2 eggs, 3 Tbs sugar, 2 Tbs cream, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp vanilla, enough flour to roll out.

Beat eggs and sugar. Add cream salt vanilla and mix. Mix in flour. Roll into a sheet and cut into desired shapes. Deep fry in clean fat until light brown.

The calories are for the entire recipe. Calories per kringlor depends on how many you make. I didn’t say number of kringlor because some like the lumberjack size and others prefer the dainty size.
