This photo of my grandfather was taken in the winter of 1928 somewhere in New Mexico. He was on one of his many expeditions as a miner and geological surveyor. On the back he had written to my dad who was 16 years old at the time, “Wish you were here, Len.” My grandfather was a very strong individual both physically and intellectually. I wish I could’ve gotten to know him, but he died in a mining accident long before I was born. Just wanted to share one of my favorite photos.
