What do you think of it? Uses a free explosion image and Ps motion blur (radial zoom), plus a bit of warp in free transform. I also made both the engine and steam images into transparent background layers for use as overlays, which helped but I didn't get it perfect. For those that like adding mist, steam or clouds (or falling leaves and a myriad of other things) transparent overlays like this are a great help. Something I shall try to develop further. Any critique gratefully received. Now, no idea why this one doesn't show a thumbnail - it's 8-bit, jpeg, 2000px longest edge, 72dpi and 1.1Mb - what does UHH want, blood? Please download to view.

Very interesting image creation.
Very effective and effectively integrated. If there's a nit, it might be the left side of the stack near the base, which to my mind muddles rather than contributes.

It may be that I caught the edge of her hat when I masked the zooming from her face, I’ll have a look at it Bob - thanks for the pointer. The lady’s thinking she’d like to use the image on the cover of a record she’s releasing but I reckon I’ve done better stuff of her on earlier shoots - think it’s the zoom that’s attracted her. She’s unlikely to get permission from the loco owners though, so I don’t think it will happen anyway.

That would make a dynamic cover. Our copyright law would let her use the photo, since (1) it is significantly altered, (2) the loco could be replaced by another, so it is not absolutely essential.

Thank you Bob, nice of you to say so - I know the steam isn’t up to your cloud standards though!
