Must have something to do with us being photograpgers. We now see the world as one giant photo op.
I tell the teens that I teach, that when you get serious about photography, your view of the world changes. You no longer just look at the world around you, you now begin to SEE. Suddenly there is relevance in even the mundane things
Art is everywhere, if we take the time to look for it.
I some times push myself to find an image in an otherwise non descript situation. Don't always succeed, but it keeps me from getting stale, and always looking for that ONE shot that is going to wow all who see it. All too often we are looking for the grand picture, when we can and should be looking at all the smaller componants that make up the overall granduer.
I am not a great pgotographer by any streatch of the imagination, but I occasionally do get one of those "yeah" shots.
Often,I will go out either in the yard,or wherever I am, and just stand and look up all around me, starting from the top of the trees, working my way down through the leaves and branches, looking at the play of light on everything,( hoping to see an owl in it's natural habitat). no luck yet.
Point is, just take time to LOOK.There is always something.
I have lot's of shots of things that would not win any award, but they are fun to look at, and they remind me that there is beauty all aroung. Plus I had fun.
