After the flood...

I was in Arizona this past weekend visiting friends. Recently, there was a severe flood in the area in which they live which swept away much of their front yard. These wildflowers were among the few that survived. Although rather bedraggled, I felt that being survivors entitled them to be memorialized with texture, a fun thing to do.

Cathy, I agree with you and the photo is exactly what you wanted to capture.

They had a few feet of water that swept away much of their front yard which covers a little over two acres. They had to have a few tons of soil and rock brought in to get on the road to restoration. What a mess! That texture is emblematic of what they experienced. Thank you, Carol!

Thank you, Chuck! All is well there. Much of the vegetation is gone, but the trees survived, and they're starting cactus cuttings to plant when rooted. However, the flood took out a shed they wanted removed, so there is the good with the bad, and cleared out a weeded area they wanted cleared too.
