A gas pipeline is being installed in the field and hill to the right of the picture and the heavy equipment has damaged the roadbed of the bridge. Usually all the pipeline workers are gone by this time of the year but we've been noticing that many of them are putting insulated skirting around their travel trailers so they seem to be settling in for the winter.

I can sympathize--Indiana began a new interstate extension ten years ago, and it isn’t projected to be finished for another three years.

I hope they did not allow the bridge building crew to run ahead of the road crew. There are still a few of the bridges used by the cattle to cross over the rivulets!*

* A few decades ago fiasco. In working on the Interstate from Lexington to Indianapolis, it was decided to allow the bridge builders to erect ahead the bridges based off the plans at hand. Only to end up with a slight angle creep in the process.

Just think...in another three years the original section will need repairs and it will continue nonstop forever. Darn the bad luck huh?

Re: I-285 in Atlanta. Once they finish fixing the loop, they are at the beginning to start fixing the road again. A perpetual paving project.

I hope they did not allow the bridge building crew... (show quote)

They're not building a new bridge but rather are repairing damage done to the road surface due to the heavy equipment traffic. The pipeline companies have been very good about maintaining the roads used during construction. We live on a gravel road and it was in the best shape I can remember a couple years ago when the crews were laying pipe in its vicinity.
