High ISO Noise-A7R4-AI Clear-Blackbirds

The images have lots of noise at ISO 6400 with the A7R4. Its noticeably more than the A7R3. That is one of the short comings of 61mp. Cropping amplifies it.

I'm using Topaz's AI Clear as a plugin to Capture One to clean them. Although it works well in my opinion it has a serious flaw when file size is beyond a certain size...the image is totally black. It still works although you are working blind. Fortunately most of my images cropped are below the threshold.

Thought you should know.

For 6400, they don't look bad to me. I didn't think more MP meant more noise.

Of course, I cleaned them.

If you check out ISOMark you will find the cameras with higher pixel counts will be rated lower for noise than cameras with fewer pixels providing the sensor size, brand and vintage is similar.
