The family Ichneumonidae is huge. About 3000 more or less species.
This one is Ophion sp.
It has come up, "do they sting"?
Yes, I discovered yesterday. Venom? I do not think so, just a mechanical puncture. The wasp stuck my knuckle and hung there.
Like a pin prick, no lasting pain.
And a Grass spider, I believe. It could sit on a dime.
These shot in only light, a low watt lamp. The lens is a permanently reversed 28mm off brand, wide open.
My shake is becoming more problematic. Working on ways around it.
To the arboretum in DC today. If you get the chance, a great place year round. The bonsai alone worth the trip.
Enjoy your day.
Bill
