GoodEvening,
My name is Paul Anderson, and i just perchased a sonya6000, and then i bought a fe 1.8/50mm along with the kit lens that came with the camera. I am a legally blinded veteran. I have retinitis pigmentosa with a small field. I went to take a picture the other day and the glare of the sun was so bad i had to have my grandaughter take the pic for me. She reminded me that i got the camera to extend my vision. Since i couldn't see anything on the screen, i was thinking that maybe I should purchase a bigger eye cup than the one that came with the camera. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Paul Anderson

Paul,

Welcome to the forum. Thank you for your service also from a Vet.

What you need is a shield that keeps the light off the viewing screen so you can see.

This is what you need. $11 your problem should be solved.

Paul, thank you for your service.

I do not own a 6000, but am curious; did the electronic viewfinder not help you. I had to switch cameras in order to get an EVF to solve the bright light problem.

I have a Hoodman eye cup for my Sony cameras, A6500 and A7111. I had them for my Nikons and when I got the Sony's tried to find a hoodman for my A6500. I had to get a generic one for that one. I wear glasses so I got the larger one. It works great.

First of all, as a veteran, I thank you for your service. I have a Hoodman eye cup which is great for eye glasses. I don't have a Sony camera, but I'm sure Hoodman makes one for your type of camera.
