Fine image Longshadow! That looks like a very large tidal range. Guessing 8 to 10 feet???

Tides there are 14 feet. It is so odd to be standing at the water's edge (to the right) and look back seeing that the water would be about 8 feet over my head.

The 14 foot tide changes about 7" in 15 minutes.
(Nowhere near the 30 foot change in the Bay of Fundy though!)

Amazing, I had no idea tide ranges varied so much. It has really caught my interest. Something I’m going to research. Thanks so much for the photo. Always something new to learn here.

When you get a little further up the coast to Lubec you can get 28 foot tides. Entire bays empty out into mudflats - making for great clamming. But very strong currents and treacherous boating for anyone who doesn't know what they are doing.
