Attended , last evening, the opening for members of the above noted exhibit for members of the Cummer Museum in Jacksonville, FL. It was and is outstanding. Sixty, many not seen in exhibits before, were beautifully displayed up close and personal. You can google the Dreihaus Tiffany Collection and get a more in-depth explanation for what it is all about. It will be with us until Jan 5 , 2020 and end up in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn , MI in Feb 2021. If is comes anywhere near you do not miss it. The Dreihaus Museum is located in Chicago and occupies the former Nickerson Mansion. One story goes that Dreihaus sent an agent to purchase and item be auctioned. The agent returned to him and supposedly said "Don't buy the item, buy the mansion!!" It now houses over 1500 Items in his collection.
It has also been said of Tiffany that as a astute businessman he wanted to not only design your home but also everything in it.
