I have been using Quantum for many many years and there is no better solution.

The SD-8a packs will help, but if you are shooting a lot of photos, get a Quantum. I use the Quantum Turbo 3 with my SB-900's and the performance is remarkable.

Flaspoint BP960. Can't say the comparison to the Quantum but I'd like to believe it's more affordable. Check them both out I say.
