This was taken last week while I was up in Maine. Local tells me they call it King's Creek. More to come...

Great photo, this is the right time to check out the vibrant colors in the north east.

Northeast Creek?
Is it on Route 3 just east of Mt. Desert Narrows Camping Resort?

Everything around Mount Desert Island is called Mt. Desert Narrows on Google Maps, VERY confusing.

Dave, awesome capture. The water looks like a mirror.

Yes, it is on Rt 3 shortly after the camping resort on your right (going in). I know what you mean by Google Maps but one of the locals called it King's Creek while I was talking to her. Couldn't find that name anywhere else so went with Google Maps designation. I see if you follow the creek further with Google Maps it is then called Northeast Creek. Whatever it is called it stops traffic in both directions this time of year, myself included. This image is actually a stitch of 3 images into a pano.

Leaving MDI last week they had portable electronic signs a few miles up past Ellsworth on US 1A:
NO STOPPING FOR PICTURES
Guess they had too many accidents in that area due to leaf peepers pulling over.
(But it WAS fantastic looking in that area!)

Signs? There were signs?

Actually we went up that way to the Schoodic Pennisula and all the way to Lubec and saw the signs as well. Did you discover the roadwork on 1A as well?

(No signs for your shot area.)

No real "roadwork". We only took 1A to Bangor this trip to pick up 95.

A couple of years ago we went to Lubec. Great little town, and saw West Quoddy Light loved the "day trip" from MDI. We also did Schoodic Peninsula.
