During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this is my simple way of honoring all those brave ladies (and some men) who are/were diagnosed with this insidious disease. May they face and fight the devil and come out the other side victorious. Pray that this scourge and all cancers will someday just be a footnote in history.
These photos were taken 13 years ago. The second photo is of my lovely wife with that same mule. At that time, she was two years past her own diagnosis of breast cancer. Now 13 years later she is, by the grace of God, still going strong.

A touching tribute to a lovely lady and all others likewise affected. My wife and I count 19 years now.
A beautiful tribute to your lovely wife, Ken, and congratulations to her. Our niece finished her treatments a short time ago, and I doubt there are many families that are not affected either directly or indirectly by this disease.

Ken, I am so glad your wife is a survivor. I also tip my hat to you for bringing men into the discussion. I had a lump removed in 2001 and even though it was not cancer, I still get a mammogram every other year and do my self exams daily. My doctor checks me out also during my yearly physical. Only 1% of breast cancers are men, 10% of the deaths are men. So many men wrongly believe it is only a female concern.
Who knows, your post may save a couple of lives this coming year(s). A HIGH FIVE for your post and your wife's survival.
