I have a rig for hands-free carrying a heavy camera. But it required some modifications. Here is my write-up. It still works great, and I comfortably carry my camera with a 400mm plus a large external flash.

No. Honestly, I don't know what that is. I'll have to investigate it.

Just a note: This morning I went to the zoo with my "big rig." It's heavy. I used the cotton carrier most of the time. When moving between close animals, I simply had it around my neck supported by my left hand. HEAVY. The only problem I had with the CC is that I've lost weight, and I need to readjust it!

Here is the link to the Steady Shot. I am going to be wearing a very thick parka (used in the Arctic etc) when I go to Iceland Feb 2020. Have shaky hands when holding the camera and a lens. I do have a tripod but from how it looks, the Steady Shot looks like it would solve all my shaky issues. Just unsure as to how it will all go together. I am calling BH tomorrow for more information.

Here's the link to the Steady Shot . . . https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/818081-REG/Cotton_Carrier_777_SSB_9462_Steady_Shot.html/reviews

Great news on losing weight - now that is something I also need to do!

I recently got Steadify. I have not had a chance to test it out, but it is a less expensive alternative to the Cotton Carrier.

Thank you dsmeltz! I had no idea how I was going to use the cotton carrier and backpack and the Arctic field jacket. This just might do it. I just ordered it from B&H. They have a 30 day return policy! This works out well I can take it to the conservatory where they have all these Gorgeous Flowers and see how it works. Thank you for posting this. I had no idea what to call it. I wouldn't have known how to look at it look for it at B&H.

Well, believe it or not, I did ask the Iceland Photo Tours if I could bring my small camera case that has a handle and wheels. They didn't think it would work so well over the varied terrain. Close to your shopping cart idea! Great minds think alike right?!

The B&H return policy (and Adorama's too) is awesome. If you are considering buying any equipment, you can buy it, try it for a few weeks and then return it, if it is not what you need.

Yes I agree with you 100%! Thing is I had reached out to the company through their website to ask if I could try there product given I hadn't read your email yet. They responded saying if I buy from B&H they're selling older stock. I'm supposed to call the company and then they're going to see how they can give me some sort of trial. What I'm thinking is I can try B&H and if it's good enough then I'm done and will purchase BH if the newer version doesn't really add much to it. It's the overall functionality wearing all the stuff I have to wear. But they did say that shaky hands will not be an issue because I won't be holding the camera so that's a great thing!

I forgot. B&H does not have the camera attachment or the improvements in the second generation of the product. I got the second gen by purchasing through Kickstarter. I was irritated that I saw it online at B&H for a (slightly) lower price and complained. Swift Tools quickly got back to me and explained the differences including the camera mount.

How are the versions, 1st generation versus 2nd generation, different?
