Thinking about replacing or adding the 24 -30 mm Nikon. Shoot mainly landscape. Your thoughts will be appreciated!

24-70 mm f2.8 will be sharper and faster than the 24-300 mm but you will have extra weight in carrying around two lenses instead of one. What camera body are you shooting with?

IMHO I would go with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens

I agree with PixelStann77. With Nikon D850, you want to bring your A game which include best lenses. The 28-300mm is a wonderful lens that got along well with my D750 but not for the high-end D850. When I purchased my D850, I said goodbye to my friend, the 28-300 and purchased some high-end glass and wow, the pictures they take with the D850 really pop.

It depends on whom you ask. You have a top of the line super-camera, and there are those in the sharpness brigade who will tell you you should use only the latest sharpest lenses with it. There are others that suggest you rent some lenses and see for yourself. If you don't see an advantage to being on the bleeding edge of sharpness, then shoot what you want.

The 28-300 is NOT on the list of lenses recommended by Nikon (or anyone else) for the D850. Keep that in mind when considering it. Aside from the 10x zoom, there is little to rave about. Your camera is something to rave about, as is the 24-70 and the 70-200. You should add a lenses that is a complement to that camera and other lenses. Otherwise, you could have saved your money and gotten a used D700.

Nikon does not list Sigma 24-105 f4 Art for D850, either, but my Sigma 24-105 gets more use than my Nikkor 24-70 2.8G VR. The weight is not much different, either. I shoot landscape and travel, using RAW files.

Well I don't know about 850 ,but have an 810 and in my own experience. Ive tried these all in one wonder lenses. And ended up with a 17-35 2.8,24-70 2.8,80-200 2.8. I also have a 300 2.8 ai-s from my film days. I also have 105 2.o , 58 1.2 noct, that are carryovers. But if your doing landscapes alot buy in my opinon the best lens for your money is Nikkors 20 1.8 afs its my favorite for cityscapes and nighttime low light wides. And dont forget a great 50 1.4 which for the money the best lens you'll ever buy. I for one dont buy many lenses with built in focus motors ,which makes it necessary to build the lenses out of plastic to save weight. My bag and cameras on average weigh about 20 lbs when I go out. And if you cant carry what you need then consider a plastic alternative.

Nikon only lists Nikon lenses

The Sigma is an outstanding lens, and I find it better on a D800 or higher mp body than the Nikkor 24-120 F4.
