Flowers naturally please the eye. Your photograph of this flower accords with the composition principle of filling the frame with the subject. If I may say so, lifting the mid-tones might improve the exposure. Other approaches could work, too: for example, blackening the background to isolate the flower for more visual bang. This flower might work in black-and-white as well. Overall, you have a winner with this version.

Of the many, many pictures of flowers that are always posted here , this one is the absolute best. I was getting sick of all the flower pictures until I saw this one. I really like this photo, it really spoke to me . Very well done. You should be very proud of this picture. Someday I hope to take a photo this good.
