Granted he could use a washcloth and maybe not the prettiest bird but interesting to watch. Marabau Stork pics taken in Amboseli Nat Park and Serengetti, Tanzania Feb. 2019.

Great shots. I am using the 80-400 with an 810. I am eager to try out the D500 with this lens. From what all I have read about it, the focusing abilities are quite superior. From looking through your past posts with this combo your captures are super.

The lens works really well with the D500, fast responsive focusing, but a wee bit on the heavy side (lens). having said that, nearly all of my shots are hand held. as you may have found, the lens works quite well for macro shots too. The D500 is great camera for wildlife shooting. easy to adjust to changing conditions. thanks for viewing and commenting fergmark

#3 is flat-out stunning! Note: There is what appears to be a large dust spot in the upper-right quarter of the sky, as well as a few dark spots that might be dust or very far-away birds in #3. I might suggest removing those... Just pointing this out, not as a criticism. Great shots all...

thanks for pointing this out. Probably is a large dust spot I missed. Safaris are usually quite dusty and try as best, I do miss a few. thanks for viewing and commenting.
