I know this has been done before here, but my search didn't bring up the info I need. Could someone supply me with the link on Adobe to update my LR 6 to 6.14, please. I have a new computer and installed my LR 6, but need to update it. THANKS!

Isn't there an Update choice in the Help menu?

There is, but it tells me I'm up to date. And yet I'm not.

There's a link in this post: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-612722-1.html

BTW - save the install file along with all your software install files so you don't have to search for it again in the future.

Thanks, Paul. I thought I had done that, but I couldn't find it. I'll make sure I do this time!

You may have saved the original from the long, long ago original install. The subsequent updates via the Help Menu (while that option worked), may not have saved a local file. The link above should be the final install through all point updates. You many need to uninstall / reinstall. See how it executes / responds when you get the download to your hard-drive and can try executing. It may simply recognize that the software needs to apply only the point-updates rather than a fresh install.

Yes! Be sure you keep an install file. As Lightroom 6.14 ages may likely be more difficult to get install files. Adobe got into a tangle with a couple other big corporations last year over licensing agreements. The result was a lawyer fight and a spin out of policy where only recent software is supported.

I've done it. It doesn't allow you to save it anywhere. It just does it. I guess that's why I couldn't find it!

Hmmm. I am currently running LR 6.1.1 which is installed directly on my iMac. It is not a cloud version. Is there an update that I can download which won’t mess up my system? Thanks VERY MUCH. My next step will likely be to go to the subscription version, but I am too comfortable using what I have now....

Off the help menu inside LR is an option to 'check for updates'. However, the computers at Adobe that answer this 'phone home' check for updates will no longer respond for the unsupported software. There a link earlier this thread that goes to another post containing a link to Adobe. There you should be able to obtain the Mac version of the update to the final point-update of the v6 software.

Paul, I went to the page from that previous link and had NO problem downloading the installation file for either platforms.

I saved the download of 6.14 but I don't know if it illegal to share since Adobe does not support stand alone LR anymore. If any of you know the answer to this I will be able to share. What I don't know is if each download is specific to the Adobe password you needed to download. All responds are appreciated.

The software requires a valid serial number to complete the install. The install file in generic, but can't complete with a key. Given Adobe has a link to download the file, you probably don't need to post the file to a dropbox (wink).

My download and install did require my license number. I saw it come up during the process. Do so as long as they keep the download up, I guess we're safe. Once it's gone, . . . .

Rather than clicking the link, instead 'right click' and from the resulting menu, save the link (file) to a location on your computer. Then you'll have a copy of the file.
