Thanks Mac. I probably would have just updated without giving much thought. I use Lightroom and PS. I also turned off "auto updates".

Doom and gloom warnings may be slightly over exaggerated.....I updated last night to Catalina, never give much thought to issues since it is pretty simple to revert back if I had too.

Upgrade went smoothly as usual with Mac updates.

Lightroom Classic CC functions, Photoshop CC functions, Bridge CC functions, Dx0 functions, ON1 Raw 2019 functions, Rawdigger functions, FastRawViewer functions, Gimp functions, LibreOffice functions, the only apps that I had an issue with were OpenDNS Updater and a couple little apps that have not been used for a long time - no big deal.

That all being said, I do not tether with Lightroom, and have not seen any issue in Photoshop for my normal workflow starting from Lightroom to Photoshop and/or various plugins like Topaz Denoise A.I. or Photolemur3. Also gave the old NIK plugins a try and all seemed fine.

I did run into an issue with creating a boot disk mirror using Chronosync (my current version does not fully support Catalina and APFS, but an update should be out this week) however normal backups run fine with Chronosync and of course Time Machine.

I am not afraid to be out on the bleeding edge - rather there then way behind. :)

I have a relatively new Macbook Pro. I did not see anything really essential in this new OS. Why should I upgrade?
