Hello,
I have been to NYC several times taking photographs but have only been on the southern tip of Central Park.
Strawberry Fields is the farthest north I have ever been. I want to go to Central Park this Fall hopefully on a nice day and peak foliage.
I am trying to figure out "my plan" and the best way to spend my time efficiently to photograph as much of the park as I can.
I see online there are many options esp. tours. I figure I may be good for 4/5 hours of walking then probably start slowing down (tired).
I don't mind paying someone who really knows where they are going. I could always plan my own tour but hopefully not spend too much time wandering in the wrong directions.
Central Park is big, no doubt. Guess it may take 2 days to really accomplish everything. I am going for one day.
Just looking for opinions/input from members?...What do you think is the best way to approach this?
Thanks.
The park's website -
http://www.centralparknyc.org/ - has a lot of information and an interactive map. Just plan out a route based on what you would like to see. You should be able to do it within a day. The park isn't that big.

You can't go wrong almost anywhere in CP.
The North Woods has some scenic water and a small waterfall, bridges, etc.

Nice, thank you. I knew it's been done before...lol.
My wife, while getting her Masters in Landscape Design, spent a whole semester studying and walking Central Park. I passed your question to her, and her response was, “Anywhere!” Thanks, darling, that helps.
She did have one possibly useful suggestion, which was to see if you can find images that you admire taken by others, and find out where those were taken. The other general comment is that the northern end of the park is less developed and more rugged than the southern end, if that is of interest.
Have fun! I hope you have perfect weather.
I did this last year, on my own. It was a spectacular day. I started at 59th Street and made it to 79th street, shooting all that I wanted east to west. The colors, the iconic bridges, and the lakes are beautiful in the Fall. I might take a shot at north of 79th Street this year.
I wouldn't pay for a tour. There is so much information available online, and you can decide what to see and how far to walk. Getting from one area to another, take a taxi.

Very good pics - New Yorkers must be very grateful for Central Park.

https://smokymountains.com/fall-foliage-map/I agree. Plus, when going on a walking tour, there’s not a lot of time to set up and take pictures. You mostly wind up just taking snapshots. They’re good if you’ll wind up frequenting the place in the future as you’ll know spots you would want to return to, but it sounds like you only have one day.
The Op should look at some maps, and go explore.
