Thank you for the opportunity to become a member of UHH. I look forward to reviewing all of the questions and comments, but most of all I look forward to increasing my knowledge of photography, camera's, lens and photoshop.
I have been involved with digital photography since about 2003 when I purchase my first digital camera, a Canon EOS 10d with a 6.3mp cropped sensor. The next decision was, which lens. I purchased a Sigma 15-30 aspherical.
After that I upgraded to a Canon 1Ds MII and added a 14-40 L, a 24-105 L and a 70-300.
My latest camera, and probably my last is a Canon a 5D MIII. I still have and use the 1Ds-II but less and less as its heavy and the batteries are getting very expensive.
I do all of my own printing, with the exception of metal prints. I started out with a Epson 7600 and then upgraded to the Epson 9800. Loved the K3 inks and the ability to print 44" wide. Maybe I'll upgrade to the newer Epson's which take advantage of all the technological advancements in inks and print heads.
I only shoot RAW images and save them as 16 bits in the ProPhoto color space. After reviewing the UHH forum I see that the RAW vs. JPG discussion is still on going. I also only use 2 camera modes, manual and priority aperture.
I again thank UHH for the opportunity to join and look forward to this experience.

Welcome, Steve. We look forward to your posts. Where do you hail from?
Welcome, Steve. We look forward to your posts.
Welcome to UHH from another Utah Hog!
Welcome to the UHH. No need to thank anyone for allowing you to join, UHH is a social media site open for most anyone to join. I bought my first digital camera in 2001, a Sony Mavica CD 300. My second digital camera was a Canon EOS 10D. I still have both and they still work. Over the years I've collected several Canon and Nikon DSLR'S, Canon Bridge cameras and a Canon MILC. My current daily shooters are my 5D mk IV which usually has an EF 28-300L attached and my M50 with a Viltrox EF-EOS M2 0.71X adapter and Sigma 150-600 Sport with matching Sigma 1.4X teleconverter attached, and, depending on location, I will have a Canon 80D with Canon 1.4X teleconverter and EF 100-400L II lens attached and a Nikon D500 with either Nikkor 200-500 or Sigma 150-600 Contemporary and matching Sigma 2X teleconverter. I also have a few Manfrotto aluminum and carbon fiber tripods with joystick and gimbal heads.
I usually shoot RAW but there are times when shooting JPEG has an advantage. I only shoot manual when conditions are such that the very expensive cameras highly accurate semi auto modes may be fooled by ambient conditions, otherwise I use either aperture priority mode or shutter priority mode, depending on subject, in conjunction with exposure compensation. I personally don't believe shooting in manual mode is some sort of badge of honor, although I always shoot manual when doing astrophotography. My primary flash units are Canon 600EX II-RT, Canon 470EX-AI and Yongnuo YN686EX-RT speedlites.
Welcome to the forum. You live in a great state as far as landscapes go.
