A few days ago our local county Audubon Society had an initiation meeting/seminar for volunteer Eagle's nest watchers and some were overheard to say many of last year's Eagles had returned already - which is to say quite EARLY ! So, on the way home I decided to go by a place where I know the Eagles hang out and sure enough they were there !!
The first shot is a male eagle flying in to sit with the female. The female looks to me to be the same one from last year but the male looks different - and when shooting these, there was a third Eagle flying around not far away - which gives rise to the idea of a new male trying to court the female ??
There were fast moving clouds that made exposure very challenging and clouded backrounds. These are 1/1500, f8, ISO 250-320, Canon 80D and Canon 400 prime W/1.4XII handheld. These are both full frame !
Thanks for stopping by and your comments ! ......Larry

Larry, Great Eagle images. Looks like I need to relocate to your neck of the woods to do Eagles. My turn is in late January when they migrate and stop at Lock and Dam 14 in LeClaire Iowa to feed in the Mississippi River.
Is it a given to make a a trip to your neck of the woods to capture images of them or is it hit and miss?

Thanks Stan ! ....I am hoping for the next few weeks to be the best time around this particular nest area before they get settled in to the actual nest - once that happens they tend to stay out of sight for us 8-(

Thanks for your visit and comment on this !
Excellent IQ especially considering the extender used. You really think that the female is courting a new beau? unusual. All the eagles I observe didn't go anywhere ?
