I photographed that same plane here in Houston back in 2014.
Just got a shot of it flying over while I was out photographing birds.

Years ago there was a Tri-motor that flew from Port Clinton Ohio to Kelly's island. I got to ride on it once. Awesome ride and great pics also.

I was in Naples, FL a few yeas ago and they were giving rides in the Tri-Motor. I convienced our host to take us to the airport, and there it was. Rides were $75.00 for a seat in the back and $125.00 in the cock-pit. As a retired pilot, I really wanted a chance to say I had flown one of these, so I forked it over. there is quite a difference in the technology from 1934 and today's modern airliners.

More Ford photos. Notice the engine gages on the side of the engine and not on the panel.

The EAA has this one and another Tri-Motor at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh every year. They just keep taking off and landing all day long.

This same plane was here in town back in June, 2015. I took a flight in it even though I was leery of going up in something that is older than I am. Today I would probably pass on the flight after what happened with the B-17.
When it was here they brought in several old Ford cars and a depot hack. They can be seen here if interested.

I was to young to fly when we flew to Kelly's Island but I have flown a J3 cub. The original version. The technology is great. LOL the fuel gauge was a piece of wire protruding through the fuel cap. When the wire was almost gone so was your flight.LOL The older planes are fun to fly. the new stuff is hours of boredom punctuated by moments of shear terror. lol

First plane ride I ever had was in one of these at Kennett, Mo. in 1938 when I was 10 yrs old. What a thrill.
