I've been trying to get this shot at each of the airshows for a long time, but I always miss it. It only lasts for a couple of seconds. But this time I got it. It was just pure luck that I got this shot.

One of the very best I have ever seen of this! Congratulations! Absolutely spectacular!
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than skillful! Congrats! Awesome moment captured!
I was there today also and did some shooting but didn't get a shot like yours. Did you know the jet was going to break the sound barrier?
Is it luck after trying for a long time and being prepared that you got your shot or was it hard work?

Beautiful shot of a moment very few have ever had the opportunity to capture. Have a GREAT DAY!

Thanks for the great comment. I've seen similar shots from a side view that looks pretty cool. This one looks like he's coming into this universe though a white hole.

Hi Brent,
Thanks for the comment. No, I just happen to have my finger on the shutter button taking a small burst at the time. I saw it through the viewfinder as I was shooting and nearly fell over. Camera was pointed in the right direction and my finger was on the shutter button at the right time. None of my other images match this one.

Thanks Mike for the vote of confidence. I'd like to say that I've worked hard to get this shot, but.. this event happens so fast and then its gone. I just had my finger on the shutter button at the right time. I attribute this to patience and luck.

Thanks Jeff, hopefully I'll be able to get it again, only better.
Very nice. Glad the work paid off.
Great shot, but dont think he breaking sound barrier. He would not do that at low altitude over crouds, its great shot with condensation of aircraft, just my opinion, seen the blues do that many times here at Pensacola Fl
Pure beautiful shot too. Well done.
