B17 crashed

Just saw that the Collings B17 crashed at Bradley Field in Hartford CT. Check your local news media for details. It is a sad day for the families of the victims and also for those of us who love the WW II planes.

Sad, indeed. I saw that plane flying over my house when it visited Seattle several years ago.

Besides the terrible loss of life, there are now only 9 air worthy Flying Fortresses remaining.

It is a heartbreak, and I don't remember seeing a B-17 in the last 10-20 years that was not surrounded by camera's. On that thought why don't we give it a pass?
Just a foot note, the "Champagne Lady" that is being restored at Grimes Field, Urbana Ohio, will be airworthy!
