We are starting to use drones, so far just what our team members happen to own. They can be very useful but are not magic. They are limited by weather and battery life, and for "professionals" which they call us, we must have eyes on the drone at all times unless we get a specific exception.
The correct answer to the question asked in the title, is "when you're being paid to do so."
