In the Pacific Northwest the milky Way is visible year around but the Galactic center is only visible for about nine months out of the year and then only for a couple of hours at a time. This time of year it is only visible for about an hour and getting the weather, moon and darkness can be quite a challenge.
This is a three shot panorama, all of the shots are in the portrait mode. Photos were taken with a Nikon D850 and long duration noise reduction was used. I used a 24MM fixed lens at F1.8, ISO 3200 and 15 second exposures. With noise reduction it makes them 30 second. The noise reduction seemed to work well. As you can see some light pollution was present.
I might add that I was also surrounded in the dark by a pack of I estimated six coyotes which were yipping and howling the whole time I was out there in the boonies. which of course only made the session that much more memorable
Very nicely done. And the "Greek Chorus" in the background added such an ambiance!
