What is causing this dark blue streak across the sky?

Many of my photos have this streak. I'm using a D850, Sigma Art 35mm f1.4 with the hood on. I appreciate the advice. Am I doing something wrong? This is the first time using this lens. Thanks, Paul

Do not see the dark blue streak in the blue sky.

I do see spots in the file at about one o'clock in the photo and some "wigglees" as my granddaughter calls them. It looks like a sensor cleaning is in order.

I see one obvious circular sensor dust spot above the peak on left, and another faint one. No streaks for me. You're not talking about the simply darker shade of blue sky at the top of the frame, are you (caused by clearer atmosphere than nearer the ground)? Maybe post another pic?

Perhaps you need a new monitor (or a cleaned one). I only see sensors spots here and there (not many), not a streak in sight. Unless you are talking about the very large blue streak across the top of the image called atmosphere.

If you are using a filter take it off and use a lens hood. And stop down to f8.

I do see one spot, but one has to really enlarge the image to do so.

What I see here is atmospheric haze, as Linda describes.
edit after another look at the photo I am certain that’s what you’re seeing. Haze. The angle of the shot shows you were above the haze somewhat and were able to get the clearer sky’s above the haze at ground level.

WOW, am I ignorant. This is the first time I went out to shoot landscapes in 35 years. I never thought about the atmosphere above the haze created by wildfires being clearer. All I have been shooting is wildlife here in Florida. I got a lens I thought would do the trick, I loved the results of this lens. Thank you, thank you, thank you for not making me feel stupid. Lessoned learned. BTW I didn't use a filter but I did use the lens hood though. I'll clean the sensor. Again thanks.

Same here, no band, just lots of sensor dust spots!

The darker blue area at to top is perfectly natural, horizontally the view is into the haze but as you move upwards the haze effect reduces as the sky area becomes clearer.
