Here in southwest New Mexico, this ivy is among the first plants to display fall color, drawing attention to otherwise overlooked trees as it winds up their trunks. Since is fall is my favorite season here (with winter being a close second), the five-leaf ivy seems like a promise of the cool, clear, beautiful weather to come.

I believe it is known as Virginia Creeper at least here it is. Rather an invasive plant as it can smother trees but it does produce nice brilliant reds early in the fall season. I like these too.

Oh he was there. I just couldn't get him to climb a tree and pose. He's funny that way.

Yes I think that's another name for it but I'd forgotten, plus it does make it sound invasive and therefore less charming. I do know of areas where it has really overtaken trees and shrubs and is obviously not beneficial. But I'm glad you liked the scenes.
