I enjoy what I call repurposing.
An unneeded item gets new life.
And a few shots taken from it. I am getting shakey, and it helped. Ball mount from my junk parts box.
Comments welcome.

That happens to be a nice monopod. I hope you can use it as a cane or a hiking stick too. By the way, are you interested in a game of fourteen one rack?
Happy Shooting

Custom cane heads with threaded for 3/8 16 threads are available for canes. These are great for traveling because airports etc... do not classify these as monopods; what they don't know, they don't know. Carry a small monopod head in your pocket and with a simple interchange you have a functional monopod. A few 12-18 inch strips of velcro in your pocket will also allow you to attach cane/monopod to a pole, fence rail etc. for a stable platform. Believe me, the velcro fix is better than sliced bread. Also, if you have a small, adjustable monopod, just attach the cane head while traveling.

I have a 50 foot roll of velcro. Also can use 1/4- 20 hanger bolts in handy places.
A 3/8 hanger bolt will accept a tripod head. I have two Bogen three way heads. You can set up a head on a fencepost(of wood) on an established route.
Frank Zappa and need are the parents of invention.
