It's your thread, you can put up as many pictures as you like.
Sometimes others put up their pictures in a way of trying to show up the OP. THAT's not nice. It's kinda like," MY pictures are better then yours", look at me. In others words, their "high Jacking" your thread and trying to make it about them.
Somethimes we all just like to do Show and tell, not realizing you don't show without asking first. It just innocence enthusiasm. Which is usually the case.

Don't fret, most of us have been guilty of it. As I said before, including me.

I love your Dart Frogs. Their among my favorite frogs.

I totaly understand, I think we have a thing when we see someones pic we want to share ours and post it but I understand your point, how do I let people know it's ok to post on my thread, which will allways be the case, but I'll be careful of others

I know it rude to post pictures on someone elses thread without asking first. The topic of High jacking, and posting your pictures is taboo. If you want to show your pictures start your own thread.
Clearly a lot of new people do not realize it. Typically they are the ones who do it, Myself included when I was new.

So I ask is this an open thread? You did not state that at the beginnig , buy you appear to be alright with others pictures making comments on them. Usually when a person" High jacks" most people ignored them.

Please advise, what type of thread you have..... and new people please take note.

Being a 'new people' and now guilty of high-jacking, I apologize-I am quite embarrassed. I certainly didn't mean to offend. This is the first forum I have ever joined in my life, and I read all the Forum Rules before I even signed up. I was not aware of this 'thread etiquette', if that would be the correct lingo. Perhaps newbies could be made aware of this in a personal message sent directly to the offender? Or better yet, maybe there should be an entry on high-jacking under the Forum Rules? I would probably be a repeat offender, had I not returned to this post and read this warning. I will make sure to ask the original poster in the future, now that I know how it's done. I only wanted to have a little fun here and gain some knowledge, not to upset or offend anyone.

Almost everyone is guilty of it at first, so don't fret.
If the original OP wants people to post, just say so in your opening statement. Like "on going thread", or "show me yours", etc.
As in most of society their are "unwritten rules" the same goes for here. It may or may not be in the rules newsletter or intro, but that does not matter. It something that comes up at least once a month, when "hi jacking" becomes all to common.
Usually it's innocent, and that I could care less about.
It's the ones who do it to show how much better their work is over the original OP that irke me. That's just ego. If they want to show how superior their work is over others then they should start their own thread. Then invite us with less superior photographers to comment and show our work next to theirs.
Hopefully, that will be pleasing to their egos. IF they get the comments they are looking for. "IF", yes, "IF".
