Its east of Toledo, Ohio on Route 2. The best times (depending on weather) mid April to 3rd week in May. If you come bring some cold weather gear as well as rain gear for your camera and yourself. I live in Toledo and its only a 30 miles drive for me.

Just seeing the birds can be an accomplishment!

My wife and I have gone to Pt Pelee in Ontario off-and-on over the past twenty years. She retired at the end of May this year, so until now, her work has gotten in the way of our going during peak migration season. Maybe I can remind her about Magee Marash next year.

If you head to Pt Pelee again, you might want to try your luck at Ronduea it is close to Pelee but much less crowded and just as many birds. Plus I think the trails are setup better for photographers.

Now as to the shots that were shared they are fantastic thank you for the download also.

How do you get the birds to perch in front of the flash?

If I understand correctly you can use shutter speeds of 30 to 1/8000 sec. How do you sync the flash at such high shutter speeds?
