Yoga Girl at the airport

I call this one "Yoga Girl at the airport" but it's really my daughter (a yoga instructor) doing her workout while waiting with us at the airport for our plane. I think the composition is very strong and I wanted to share this image with my UHH friends.
It's best viewed in download mode.

My usual comment would be to crop, but in this case, it is Yoga vs the emptiness of modern. She is sculptured and limber, the competitive elements are stiff and straight. The story is strongly stated, our eyes focus on her being stronger than the rest of the image. So yes, I like the composition.

I agree with you dpullum........if I would have cropped, the strong leading lines of the window panes wouldn't have been so important in this composition.
Thanks dpullum for your comments and thoughts.

Thank you Rab-Eye. In this composition there was another element that I enjoyed very much and was wondering if anyone would pick up on it.............the circular pattern on the carpet where she is sitting on. I didn't plan this out, it just worked and even though it's subtle, it helps in the composition too!

I spent a lot of time experimenting with varying crops, always drawing in from the top right hand corner. It all depends on what you are wanting to convey. Coming back to it after 3 days, I still like a slight crop, which for me at least, maintains the architectural space and gives your daughter a more fulfilling presence, which has more appeal for me. Its a terrific shot.

Awesome fergmark! You have a "composition kind of mind". It's a great idea to come back to something in 3 days with a fresh perspective. Thanks for the "terrific shot" comment too!

loving her low Chignon Updo... fabulous wardrobe styling... this beautiful rust color sleeveless top is always in abundance at yoga studios... as are are those chic arabian pants... epic Ardha Matsyendrasana... a.k.a. Half Lord of the Fishes Pose...

Trust that you have your own daily Yoga practice Brent... it is gift from antiquity... Yoga has been practice for over 3000 years... and continues strong today... Kudos to your daughter for being a stellar ambassador for this amazing "Life Style"

Thank you so much for sharing Brent...
