I purchased this at the last minute as a pocket camera to take to a high school class reunion. Shot a few photos there and around the area where I grew up, images looked good in the camera, but when I tried to download from memory card to computer the card was empty and images must be in camera's internal memory. How do I retrieve them? There are some very special images I want to save - house where I grew up, grandfather's barn, some reunion photos.
Nikon Support and camera manual not very helpful. Both say that images go to internal memory if NO memory card in camera, but there was a card in place, a brand new one purchased just for that camera.
Did you format the card in the camera? If not maybe it doesn't recognize it?
No cable to connect the camera to a computer?
What does the manual say about using internal memory?
Page 104 of the manual
To transfer images saved internally, remove the card from the camera if installed.
Then connect camera to computer with USB cable

Yes, card was formatted.
Is there an option to select card or internal memory?

Not that I've found, but I've been told that if I take the card out, I can reach the internal memory. I'm away right now and don't have the required USB cord with me.

Thanks! (My DSLRs are much easier to use!)
