Triskaidekaphobia -- fear of the number 13 (it's a real word).

I have been on many elevators in buildings that are 14 floors or higher, but I have never seen a 13th floor on an elevator's button pad. I assumed that the floors were numbered 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 14 15 etc.

Hmm... would you willingly accept a room reservation on a hotel's 14th floor which is, in reality, the 13th floor?

In re missing labels for 13th floors in hotels and office buildings: I believe the western superstition about 13th floor missing from elevators is an old trope. Most high rise buildings use the 13th, 26th, etc. floors for their engineering spaces because that's about the reasonable limit for pumps to lift water to keep a minimum head of pressure.

I guess that with more people having intolerance and allergies to every day foods and substances the number of Phobias are going to increase..

My father had an office on the 13th floor many years ago.
