I've been watching and shooting the kingfisher trying to get that one great shot but they are so small and so darn fast. I keep trying. This same day the osprey was chasing her around the cove, unfortunately no shot worthy of posting. Fascinating to witness though.

Well done. One of the hardest to photograph birds I have ever tried for. I only have two decent shots of this bird.

You did great to get it in any fashion. They are next to impossible to shoot. The only photo I have of one was an accident caused by someone going to the opposite side of the pond and scaring the bird over to my side.

Last one was seriously good. Not that easy to pan with a birdie in flight. He's a cute little fellow.

Does he have a unique call?

He does. They are loud and known as the rattler. That's usually how I find them first.

Great set...really like the last one! Been trying for the past 4 years. They seem to know just when you are locked on and away they go. Geez....
