I wasn't quite sure as to what section this question belongs, so bear with me. I have a Sony Mavica FD92 in excellent condition, with the original box, instructions, cords, plus a set of 3 Tiffen filters and a teleconverter lens. I'd like to sell it, however, I'm stymied as to what I should ask for it as it does have the extra Tiffen filters and teleconverter. I've seen prices anywhere from $9 to $49 (eBay) to $799 (Amazon). I just charged up the battery and it works great. Any suggestions as to what I should ask for it?

I’d suggest the classified section after checking the market thoroughly. Then, set a price including offers, none of which you have to accept.

What I do if I want to get a feel for what something might sell for is to search for the item on ebay, but under ‘filter’ check the “completed” box. This will show if they have sold and what they have sold for.

It was $800 when it was released in 2001. It's maybe worth about $15 today, unless you don't mind waiting. You've had it this long, you might as well post it on eBay for $400 with a reserve of $600 - it could take a while, but it's entirely possible, though highly improbable, that someone will come along and snatch it up.

While nobody wants a 1MP camera these days but I think it's possible to get decent money out of it. I think there aren't many of them especially in good condition. The fact that it uses floppy disk can make it desirable as collector item. You can do what Gene said but I think go for $200 perhaps?

Thank you for your suggestion. I wasn't sure about putting it in the Classified on UHH.

I remember this camera when it came out and almost bought one back then. At this point, it's primarily a collector piece in my eyes, but it's use of a floppy disk is a bit unusual. Whether that makes it desirable to a collector I just don't know. Go ahead and list it for whatever you think it might be worth, but specify "OBO" (or best offer) to see what someone might be willing to pay. Good luck and good shooting to all.

I have checked eBay and it looks like I'd be lucky to get $49 for it. It would probably fit in a collection as the condition is like new.

I like your thinking. I never thought to put it in for that much.

I hadn't thought of the OBO. Thanks for that option.

Yeah put that in for that much. In case you don't get it and want $15 for it let me know. I don't pay much but I want it. I do have a couple hundreds of 3.5" floppy to use it.

Tried selling mine a few years back; no takers at $20 plus S&H. I'll keep it until it is an antique then it might be worth a bit more!?

Put it on eBay and take what you can get. It's a 18 year old camera that is only 1.3 megapixels. It's ancient by today's standards.

It is no different today. I would place it it the recycling bin for electronic devices and call it a day. Why would anyone buy it? Why waste your time?
