Focus Stacked Image of Grub Larva

This is the preserved larva that I have had for over six months now. I placed it in scalding water for several minutes to kill the internal bacteria and put it into denatured alcohol to preserve it and it is holding up quite well.

I took this focus stacked image with my two reversed mounted lenses and extension tubes with an aperture setting of f/5.6 and a shutter speed of 1/40 second. The grub was placed inside the ping-pong ball with a piece of gradient colored paper to create the background. The ping-pong ball was illuminated with four light heads placed against the outer surface to create the soft light and to suppress any cast shadows. There are 426 images processed in Zerene Stacker to create the final image.

Thanks in advance to all who view and for your comments, suggestions, questions and critique.
