Good capture. A little dark on the Kingfisher's eye.

An almost unbelievable shot. I kayak the waters on and near Lake Erie, and see numerous kingfishers. They are a very skittish bird and difficult to approach. Although I'm not sure this forum supports it, I would love to know more about how you accomplished this difficult shot. Kudos!

Thanks very much Wil. It's no mystery just patience. I set up with my tripod with gimbal head in a known habitat wearing muted colors and wait. I am in a clump of reeds which helps obscure me but I'm sure that they know I'm there but pose no threat. Wait some more and move slowly but deliberately. vz

I was shooting through the reeds for this shot. On the download and then the magnification two eyes can easily be seen staring at the camera.

Looked great on download, Erik. However, I only saw one eye. Guess I need to make an appointment with my optometrist.

Thanks Annie for looking in and commenting. I discovered on the DDL that just the edge of the fish's other eye is also visible. vz
