While I was shooting some pictures over the weekend, my LCD screen in my Nikon D7100 went blank. I can see a yellow line on the screen. I can not see the settings, or view pictures. I read an article on the web stating that it is common issue with Nikon camera. Does anyone know how much it will cost to repair it, and who I can send it to get it fix. Thanks!
Search this on line - Ask a Nikon Support Question. Have had good repairs at Nikon - usually in California.
I started to post a link, but crazy long!
Thanks! if you can share the link, then that would be great!

As stated Nikon, if it isn't a gray market body.the cost will probably be more than the body is worth.

That is a tough outcome. If your D7100 has a lot of miles on it, you might just consider a replacement body, or upgrade to D7200/7500 or other. The used body prices seem a bit depressed of late, and i've seen some pretty easy on the wallet prices at numerous venues, many with decent warranty and return policies. In addition, Nikon refurbished D7200/D7500 bodies in the $500-600 range, from trusted vendors we all buy from.
If the price of the repair is very high, you might consider looking around for a replacement. It could be the LCD, or a solder joint, ribbon cable, or cable connector issue, or circuit board component issue. On many bodies the LCD is one of the easier replacements - you generally don't have to tear the camera down very far, like you would for a shutter assy. On one of my older Sony bodies, I found it easy to replace the LCD, but hard to find a good LCD for a reasonable price.
Good luck in your quest....

I had a similar problem with my 850. Nikon repair was fast, professional and reasonably priced.

There was mention of this issue being common with Nikon cameras, but for me it is the first I've heard of it as a "common problem". There have been issues with certain models dealing with shutter; D80 was one, and the D600 had an issue (I don't remember details), and I have heard of a couple others, but don't recall off-hand. I had an issue with a D90 (lost it's viewfinder readout, but AF and metering still work fine, I just have to look at the top LCD for quick adjustment, or back LCD. Some of the early Sony bodies had a problem with the LCD showing wear early, design issue I guess, and some of the articulating LCD's had problems. None of my back LCD's on the Nikon bodies have had any issue, and in fact seem pretty stout.
I have not heard that a blank LCD screen was a common problem with Nikon. If it were, I am sure there would be a lot of comment about it on UHH and in other media sources. Sour grapes, perhaps?

That happened to my D500 and they had to replace the circuit board. Luckily it was under warranty.
