If that was the case that certainly is understandable. However you provided no indicator as to the situation of or need for the k*****g. Some people do it just for the trophy. It is for that reason that I find it d********g.

Probably but that Giraffe is far from a defenseless animal if provoked or threatened. Watch some of the videos when other animals such as lions try to take one down. The lions usually win because they gang up in numbers but it isn't easy for them. And we humans bring down lots of defenseless animals all in the name of food for the table. Most humans enjoy things like a steak, fried chicken and fish.

Cows, chickens, turkeys, ... are rather defenseless,
and simply raised to be eaten.
What one eats simply depends on where one lives and what foods are available.
However, I do not care for trophy hunting, unless the meat would be eaten or donated to the locals.

Most trophy h****rs do donate the meat if they are not going to use it them selves. More often than not trophy hunts involve older non- breeding animals that should be culled from the heard.

Don't you just love people who try to 'justify' the pleasure people take in k*****g things....as a chef I know all about 'where the meat comes from'....including how it is slaughtered. In over 50 years I have never seen a selfie inside an abattoir....! Nor a sheepskin complete with the head....

If it isn't part of your job to replace those that are k**led.....keep out of its life cycle.

They use the meat. If you don't have any knowledge of a subject you should stay quiet about it. Unless you value animals above humans and want people to go hungry?

If Only I Could" is the debut single from American-German singer Sydney Youngblood. It became his biggest hit when released in 1989 on vinyl, audio cassette and compact disc.

Dan, I read both pages of the post. No one asked if the giraffe area where this giraffe was shot had hunting permits they issue. This giraffe was shot in another country. It is THEIR laws that govern what happens in their country. They do not ask our opinions when making their laws.

I am simply saying if they followed the laws of the country they took the giraffe in, they followed the law.

I don't know why this animal was taken. If for food, no problem, if not a disgrace.Humans are among the very few creatures that hunt for sport. Once the weapon comes to the shoulder the hunt is over, the shot is now target practice

From what I understand the meat is given to the villagers. Perhaps someone else has more information.

Only Frankie can drop into a civil thread like that.

Nice 'splat', Frank.
