I wold take the 2 D810 cameras with the 200-500 on one camera and the 80-200 2.8 on the other. You will hopefully be shooting some at dusk. Animals will sometimes be too close for the 200-500. I would also take the wide angle for panoramas, like the top of the Crater in Tanzania, and maybe the 18-200. When you drive to and from parks you will see some interesting people and the 18-200 is a great walk around lens. I put a lens coat on my 200-500 and rarely used my bean bag or monopod.

Also, have fun and don’t forget to put down your camera and just enjoy the beauty sometimes.

I would take the D7500 to give you the extra range of the crop sensor. I went on two safaris with crop sensor cameras, and did not need anything longer than 300mm. You might find all that cumbersome, especially if you need to fly in smaller planes where there may be weight restrictions.

Why do you feel compelled to criticize the OP?

When I went to Africa I took 2 cameras and rented a 80-400 Nikon that I used at least 75% of the time in the field. On my second Camera I used a Nikon 18–120 and it came in handy at times( 18 may not be correct ).
You are in for a special experience. Have fun!
Note: rented lens from Lensrental.com- good company to do business with

Why do you feel compelled to defend the use of an obsolete foreign language in an English language forum?

In regards to the D 7500. My son took a D300S with it’s great 12mp sensor and used my 200-500. He got some spectacular shots. But using my D850 and 70-200 with a 2X extender, so did I, but I could crop in PP which proved advantageous. Just a thought.

I agree. On my first trip, I took a D300 with a 70-300mm lens and came home with fabulous shots. On my second trip, I took a D7100 with a 70-300mm and a 10-20mm (which I only used once) and also had great results. I would have taken my 150-500mm, but for three factors: weight restrictions, my strength and stamina, and inability to bring on the airplanes as carry-on luggage

Check for weight restrictions on the "last flight". My girlfriend did a similar trip and the plane was small, so there were weight restrictions.

I concur with this recommendation. I was in Tanzania in April and most of our group shot D500s with the 200-500 or Tamron 150-600. Second bodies typically had 24-70 or something that covered a wider angle.

18-200 & 200-500 I have been to Soyth Africa and Tanzania 10 times and have only taken one camera. I have never had any problems changing lenses in the bush.

The 18-200mm is a DX lens. I would not put the DX lens on the FF D810 for a once in a lifetime trip.

Berchman, ‘Aloha’ is far from obsolete. If you lived a little further west among more Pacific Islanders you’d better understand. It is a wonderful word emanating from a very friendly and warm culture and, it seems, might be a word carrying sentiments that would be well for you to adopt.
