A few using new lens

I went to soccer game and shot the game with my D7000 DX and my new 200-500mm f/5.6 lens. I have a lot to learn with this new lens, not use to big size and weight on my monopod. Can't wait until I get my D810 FX back from Nikon repair. I think soccer for me is a little tougher than other sports. Following the ball and getting clear shots is tough. I will work on it though. Hey Jules I shot this game and got home and realized I didn't shoot any vertical shots. The D7000 isn't big enough in pixel size for me to get a 3.000 x 2.216 photo for MaxPreps gallery. DAMN. Let me know what you all think. Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom:
Just got finished editing two galleries.
How much are you cropping these?
A little rough at 100%, could be the camera. We will see how the shots are when you get the D810 back.

What were your settings Tom? The reason I am asking is for soccer I can stop the action at 1/1600 at 5.6 for the guys and 1/1250 for the girls. Anything higher than that your iso goes up and the quality suffers.

Good morning. One of those days I didn't sleep to late, 3:20AM here. They were almost all shot at 1/1250, f/5.6, @ISO 400. Thanks

Hi Tom:
Maybe it's the camera- lenses combo.

The last pic could have been cropped vertical with no problem.

I must not understand what I am trying to do. When I crop that one the closes I get is 2162 x 3264. 54 short of Max's 2216. Thanks

Tom you have to set in Photoshop or Lightroom your custom crop settings for mp 2216 x 3000. That way it will come up every time while editing pics. I am not to good at computer stuff, I know just the basics. But the custom crop is the way to go.
Try youtube to learn how to use this method. 1/1250 at 5.6 is a good shutter speed and apt. I don't know what is wrong. Soccer is a tough sport to shoot for sure.
Good luck,
Jules
