I cannot think of a time that I have told the camera, "you focus for me". Today, I found a good reason to let it do the job. It is the annual salmon run here and I went to a local dam to see if they were jumping. It was too big of an area and predicting where and when one would jump was just not working. So, I put it on full manual. Turns out, it was a good choice. Attached photos are mostly heavy crops.

It is my favorite of the group. I posted about 16 of them on FB and they seem to be getting a strong response. Not many get to see them jump, so they like the photos.

Then why did you say you put it in manual (focus)?

Oh boy, because my brain and fingers disconnected. It was on full auto focus. Thank you for taking the time to question the lack of logic there. Sigh.
