The CTSRR is owned by the states of New Mexico and Colorado.
Daily passenger railroad operations are run by the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad.
The Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (The Friends) is a volunteer group approved by the states of New Mexico and Colorado.
The stated goal of The Friends is to preserve and restore to operating condition some of the unique railroad equipment, preserve sites of historic interest and promote public knowledge and interest in the railroad.
The Friends organize 7 one week work sessions plus special work session as needed during the railroad season.
This summer I volunteered as a Chronicler in Sessions, E and F to take pictures of the work progress, fill out reports with pictures and describing the work performed. There are several Chroniclers and many projects for each session.
The following images are from one project in that work session.
21 images. Will take a little time to post.

Image #15. In earlier years, the fifth side board was added using the "Scab" posts for support. As these cars are restored, they will be restored as they looked before restoration.
At the end of the work session, they ran out of boards and time.
They need one more side board and the end boards.

Paint crew came by a few weeks later and gave it a coat of primer.
Good set, and good to see,

Is the brake cylinder for this system a "standard item"?
Do they have an easy-to-get-to source?

Pat, Thank you for posting those photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have watched the railroad's webcams in the past but lately they don't seem to be working, for me anyway. The camera mentions something about SSL HTML 5 video. Is this something new and my computer doesn't work with it?
.
This is what I get from the three cameras.

The webcam setup is reaching the end of its service life
and has suffered a series of break downs
BUT your timing is right on. This week end volunteers are heading to Chama to replace several components with new, up to date black boxes. We should see live action by tonight or tomorrow.
(for future reference you can visit:
