I have two pictures of the same subject taken a couple of days apart. I can't decide which I like better and I like your input and constructive criticism. Both pictures were taken using a Canon 40D @ ISO 100, Aperture f16, in Manual Mode. The photo visible the sun was taken using a focal length of 135mm at 1/30s. The photo without the sun visible was taken using a focal length of 53mm at 1/13s. Thanks for your help.

Canon 40D -ISO 100, 1/30s, f16, 135mm
Canon 40D -ISO 100, 1/30s, f16, 135mm...

I like #1 due to the prominence of sun & windmill.

I'll go with #2 - landscape with windmill, barn and silos.

To me #1 is too close to be a landscape and a bit too far to be a close study of the structures. though the combination of almost a silhouette and the sun between the silos is very nice. I could grow to like #1 and then they would be a toss up, two different styles, both good.

You might try a clone brush and put the sun in #2.

#1. Looks great
You probably could have used F11.

Ditto.

(I'd consider #1 a landscape...)

I like #1, I am partial because I have been taking a lot of "flare" photos lately. I like the suggestion from robertjerl of adding the sun in #2 if you are able to! Because that is a nice photo as well.

To me, #2 communicates solitude. I like that!

Both shot are very good I like #1 but I agree with KNewbill if you can add a sun to #2 it would bring more intrest to the shot

#1 shows details better. I like it for that reason.

I prefer the first one as a scenic, but the sun is a definite distraction because I have a hard time seeing anything but it. The windmill and barn, I believe, are the real stars of the photo. That one without the sun would be excellent, to me at least.
